Mr.
Leo Yao, founder of Atech Totalsolutions Co., Ltd., who also established
Stone Technology International Corp. in 1980, a company focused
on the development
of laptop computers. They were also the first to lead the industry
in setting up a warehouse in Hamburg, Germany to manage the entire
distribution process. In the light of the future popularity and
trend towards hand-held products, Mr. Yao decidedly gave up the
main-stream OEM business in Taiwan, and teamed up with experts in
notebooks and hand-held products. The three primary elements of
their innovations are: 1. Ni-MH & Lithium batteries, 2. EL and
LCD Flat Panel, 3. Serial Flash Memory and Micro Controller.
During the past 20 years, undeterred, they persevered toward the
realization of their goals from their innovations.
In
1993, Stone Technology International Corp. invented the world's
first Serial Flash Memory Card,, and it was named the
Media Stick.
Two years later, Sony followed our initiative and concept, and announced
it's own version - the Memory Stick.
In the
years following, Stone Technology also released the Micro Disk,
Mini Disk Flash Card, leading to the Digital Recorder, Home Messenger,
Digital Camera, Talk & Play (hand-held game) and other successful
consumer products. In 1998, Stone invented the worldwide-patented
UDisk and mUDisk Flash Cards.
In 2000
, Mr Yao rationalized that the Information industry would soon face
another turning point, and thus re-organized the core of his business.
Firstly, he moved staff and R&D members back to Taipei from
Silicon Valley, then spin-off the R&D division from STONE, established
Atech Totalsolution Co., Ltd, and grouped a R&D team in Shanghai,
China. Gathered talents in flash memory , I/O interface, ASIC and
mechanical design.
Atech
delivered CompactUDisk(CUD)
in April 2003, a unique solution that fixed
the shortcomings of other cards while covering their advantages. |
